What this site collects

This is a static site. There is no database, no account system, and nothing you do here is stored on my servers, because there are no servers.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics 4 (property G-5XTWQGL38P) to see which pages people read. It sets cookies and collects the usual: approximate location, device and browser, pages visited, and how you arrived. I look at it in aggregate; I have no interest in identifying individual readers, and no way to do so.

Browser-level tracking protection or an extension will block it, and the site works exactly the same either way.

The contact form

Submissions are processed by Web3Forms, which forwards them to my email. Your name, email address, and message pass through their systems on the way. I keep the email as long as the conversation is useful.

The newsletter

The list is held by Buttondown, acting as data processor. Signup is double opt-in - you will be asked to confirm before anything is sent. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing deletes you from the list. I do not share or sell it.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses, for security and to serve the pages at all.

Pages served from Vercel also report Vercel Speed Insights - how quickly the page rendered and responded on your device. It sets no cookies and stores no identifier for you; I use it to find pages that are slow for real people rather than only in a test lab.

Your rights

You can ask me what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Get in touch and I will sort it out.
